Frances Burns

Frances E. Burns, 84, of Falls City, NE, passed away March 26, 2024 at Falls City. She was born April 4, 1939 on a farm southwest of Verdon, NE to Clyde and Vivian (Arnold) Burns.

Frances was raised in rural Salem and she graduated from Salem High School in 1957. Following graduation, she attended business school and then became a secretary in California for Bethlehem Steel. She moved to Kansas City and worked as a secretary for Kansas City Southern Railroad before returning to Richardson County where she worked in administration for area schools. She earned her CNA and worked in area nursing homes then moved and worked in nursing homes in California and Oregon before moving back and retiring in the late 90’s.

She is survived by her brothers, Roland Burns and his wife Wilma and Roy Burns both of Salem, Tom Burns and his wife Anna of Dawson, sisters, Dorothy Costa of Eagle Mountain, UT, Carol Clark of New Braunfels, TX and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Dick, Russ, Ray and Ralph Burns and a sister, JoAnn Weber

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Maple Cemetery at Salem.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 7, 2024 from 7-:8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
