Carl Romine

Carl L. Romine, 88, of Falls City, NE, passed away November 26, 2015. He was born November 15, 1927 at South Bend, NE to the late Henry and Katherin (Schroeder) Romine.

Carl enlisted in the United States Coast Guard on February 7, 1945 as a Steward’s Mate, Third Class. He served on USS General A. W. Brewster. He was honorably discharged on May 8, 1946 at St. Louis, MO.

On June 15, 1947 he married Ella Mae Boyer at Hiawatha, KS.

Carl was raised at Rulo and attended country school. Following his schooling he worked various places until enlisting in the Coast Guard. Upon his discharge he attended school for auto body repair in Kansas City. He returned to Falls City and he worked for Mitchel Ford until moving to Wichita where he as an auto body repair technician. He returned to Falls City and continued in the business until 1962 when he purchased his auto body repair business at Hiawatha, KS from Lewis Dodson. He worked there until retiring in 2014 and he continued to help his grandson, Mitchell, who owns the shop now. He was a member of First Christian Church at Falls City.

Carl is survived by his wife, Ella Mae of Falls City, sons, Alan and his wife Freeda of Falls City, Paul and his wife Linda of Columbia, MO, thirteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Dana and Kevin Romine and a granddaughter, Emily Romine.

His funeral will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 10:30 AM at First Christian Church with Reverend Fay Ann Blaylock officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-4:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
