Dennis Rowell

Dennis Rowell, 65, of Kansas City, MO, passed away July 14, 2015 at Kansas City. He was born April 16, 1950 at Falls City, NE to the late LaVern and Catherine (Liberty) Rowell.

Dennis was raised in Kansas City and graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1968. Following graduation he was drafted into the U. S. Army and served five years until being honorably discharged at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. Following his service he worked as an over the road truck driver. He then became employed at Firestone Tire Plant in Elizabeth Town, KY where he lived for ten years before moving back to Kansas City and going back to truck driving. He retired from truck driving in 2007 due to his health. He and Camelia enjoyed riding his Harley and he collected eagles and knives. He was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ at Kansas City.

Dennis is survived by his fiancé, Camelia Cabana of Kansas City, MO, children Shohn Rowell of Rolla, MO, Justin Rowell and Katrina Rowell both of Henderson, KY, step-daughter, Yaisi Newton of Kansas City, brothers, Kerry of Kansas City, Michael and his wife Mindy of Robinson, KS, four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 1:30 PM at Rulo Cemetery, Rulo, NE with Butch Liberty officiating. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends on one hour prior to service time at Rulo Cemetery.

No viewing or visitation at the funeral home. Friends and family may sign the book during regular business hours on Friday and Monday.
