Evelyn Wissmann

Evelyn Wissmann, 91, of Falls City, NE, passed away April 24, 2017 at Falls City. She was born February 15, 1926 at Falls City to Albert and Anna (Grossoehmig) Niedfeldt, Sr.

On February 3, 1948 she married Meinert Wissmann at Falls City. He passed away February 26, 2000.

Evelyn was raised north of Falls City and graduated Falls City High School in 1945. She attended Peru State Teachers College over the summer and obtained her teaching certificate and she taught in the rural school system until getting married. When married the couple established their home southeast of Verdon and then moved to the family dairy east of Barada. She was a homemaker, worked on the dairy and always had a large garden. They moved into Falls City in 1995. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (north of Falls City), Dorcas Circle, Concordia Guild, Lutherans For Life and was a 4-H Leader.

Evelyn is survived by her sons, Larry of Falls City, Leon and his wife Susan of Hiawatha, KS, Loren and his wife Gloria of Milford, NE, Lyle of Falls City, daughters, Lela Middendorf and her husband David of Hiawatha, LuAnn Galucia and her husband Marty of Wentzville, MO, brother, Harold Niedfeldt and his wife Joann of Falls City, sisters, Eileen Hall and her husband Lyle of Lincoln, Elaine Nispel and her husband Dale of Kearney, NE, thirty-one grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren a sister-in-law, Jean Neidfelt. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter in infancy, husband, a granddaughter, Tiffany Wissmann and brothers, Albert, Jr., Kenneth and Glenn.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (6 miles north of Falls City) with Reverend Daniel Gifford officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home

The family prefers memorials be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Lutheran Hour Ministries.
