James W. Rieger

James W. Rieger, 90, of Falls City passed away December 6, 2016. He was born on October 9, 1926 to the late John and Mary (Dodds) Rieger.

On October 14, 1951 he married Ann Stednitz at Falls City. She later passed away on November 17, 2006.

James was raised on the family farm and attended Falls City High School. When married, the couple established their home on the family farm where he worked most of his life up until moving into Falls City in 2007. Other than farming he also drove the bus for Falls City Public Schools and worked for Woodings for many years. He was a member of First Brethren Church, where he served as a Deacon and a trustee, a member of the Rural Fire Department, and was on the Rural Water District Board.

James is survived by daughter, Mary Hanson and her husband Jeffrey of Ithica, NE and two grandchildren. He is preceded in death by parents, wife, brother, John, and sister, Anna Mae.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 12, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at the Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Victor Haworth officiating. Interment will be at the Steele Cemetery.

Family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00-5:00 P.M. at the Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.

Family has requested memorials go to the First Brethren Church.
