Karen McAfee

Karen “Katie” McAfee, 71, of Falls City, NE, passed away September 23, 2014 at Omaha, NE. She was born June 9, 1943 at Mound City, MO to the late Harold and Iris (Loucks) Caton.

On January 4, 1963 she married Bob McAfee at Mound City.

Katie was raised at Mound City and graduated Mound City High School in1961. After graduation she worked at the dry cleaners in Mound City. When married the couple established their home in Falls City and she worked at Milam’s Green House and Mary’s Appliance for many years. She was an avid bridge player and was a member of many bridge clubs. She was a member of First Christian Church at Falls City.

Katie is survived by her husband, Bob of Falls City, son, Mike of Falls City, daughters, Misti Lehmkuhl of Hiawatha, KS, brothers, Ben Caton and his wife of St. Joseph, MO, Dick Caton and his wife Jackie of Warsaw, MO, Bill Caton of Maryland, sister, Kay New of Liberty, MO, grandchildren, A. J., Trey and Kellen McAfee, Madison and Dalton Lehmkuhl and great-grandchildren, Lily and Annabelle McAfee. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Reverend Paul Weinert officiating. Cremation will follow the service and inurnment will be in Steele Cemetery at a later date.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
