Marilyn L. Slagle

Marilyn L. Slagle, 81, of Falls City, NE, passed away November 25, 2016 at Falls City. She was born November 21, 1935 at Falls City to the late Jay and Minnie (Krammerer) Slagle.

Marilyn was raised at Falls City and graduated Falls City High School in 1954 and then attended Peru State College, graduating in 1958. She then attended Colorado State University at Greeley, Co and received her Master's Degree. She taught music at North Platte, NE, Ft. Morgan, CO and Council Bluffs, IA for thirty-five years, she received the Lewis Central Education Association as the top teacher of the 1975-76 school year. She retired in 1993 and returned to Falls City and has lived there since. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Iowa State Teachers Association, NEA, Lewis Central Retired Teachers Association and was also a past church organist of her church.

Marilyn is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Slagle of Nebraska City, NE and fourteen nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Dean and Phillip, sisters, Evelyn Slagle Garrett and Janice Crose.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Reverend Andrew Chavanak officiating. Interment will be in Williamsville Cemetery.

Open visitation will begin Monday afternoon.

The family prefers memorials be made to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. Peter's Lutheran Church or Falls City Education Association.
