Mary P. Shefferd, 59, of Falls City passed away June 18, 2016. She was born May 3, 1957 in Bardstown, KY to Fred and Martha (Rodgers) Ward.
She married Joe Shefferd Sr. on March 30, 1977 at Key West, FL.
Mary was born and raised in Bardstown, KY where she graduated high school. After graduation she moved to Florida where she met her husband, Joe. After marriage the couple stayed in Florida for two years until moving around to numerous Army bases throughout the United States before establishing a home in Falls City in January of 1990. Once in Falls City she worked as a CNA at the nursing home until retiring in 2005. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, and gardening.
She is survived by her husband Joseph Shefferd Sr. of Falls City, NE, son Joseph Shefferd Jr. and his wife Mary of Auburn, NE, daughter Deanna Cochran and her husband Jake of Falls City, NE, brothers Scott Ward and his wife Tammy and Doug Ward and his wife Wanda both of Bradstown, KY, sister, Lynn Hardiman and her husband James of Evensville, IN, Four grandchildren, Kenton, Josie, Doe, and Kataleena. She is preceded in death by her brother, Freddy.
There will be a private family service held at a later date with no viewing or visitation.
