Richard A. Liberty, Sr.April 16, 2017
Richard A. Liberty, Sr., 85, of Falls City, NE, passed away April 16, 2017 at his residence. He was born May 3, 1931 at Springfield, IL to the late Ralph and Hazel (Miller) Liberty.
On November 23, 1949 he married Leora M. Rowell at Auburn, NE. She passed away May 15, 2007.
Richard was raised at Rulo and attended Rulo Public School. Following his schooling he worked with his father on bridges, wheat harvest and commercial fishing on the Missouri River. He moved to Kansas City in 1952 where he took employment at Owens Corning Fiberglass Factory. He retired in 1985 and moved back to Falls City in 1986 where he has lived since. He was a member of the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers Union.
Richard is survived by his sons, Timothy and his wife Sandy, Steven and his wife Deborah, Gerald and his wife Brenda all of Kansas City, MO, daughters, Theresa Gonzales and her husband Louie of Tonganoxie, KS, Terrie Lee Foster and her husband Matt and Becky Nowling and her husband Kevin both of Falls City, brothers, Sammy and his wife Mary Jo of Falls City, Arthur and his wife Sue of Lawson, MO, sister, Eva Smith and her husband Lee of Rulo, twenty grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son, Richard Jr., great-granddaughter, Gia Liberty and eleven siblings.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Butch Liberty officiating. Interment will be in Rulo Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
