Ronnie A. Schawang

Ronnie A. Schawang, 80, of Rulo, NE, passed away April 14, 2015 at Lincoln, NE. He was born October 13, 1934 at Falls City, NE to the late William and Mary (Nitzsche) Schawang.

He served in the Nebraska National Guard from 1957 until 1965.

On February 1, 1964 he married Nancy Hersh at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Rulo

Ronnie was raised on a farm northeast of Falls City and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1952. Following graduation he farmed with his father. When married the couple established their home on a farm northeast of Falls City. He farmed and raised livestock his entire life. He was also a substitute school bus driver. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a member of the Volunteer Rural Fire Department from 1966 until 2000.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Nancy of Rulo, daughters, Jackie Way and her husband Terry of Rulo, Martha Chapple and her husband Todd of Rulo, brother, Willie of Falls City, David and his wife Jan of Hastings, NE, grandchildren, Tess and Tyler Way, Sydney and Courtney Chapple. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Wayne.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father David Oldham as the presiding priest. Inurnment will be in Arago Cemetery at a later date.

A Parish Rosary will be cited on Friday at 7:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with the family receiving friends following the rosary.
