Ruth E. Cummings, 99, of Falls City, NE, passed away March 17, 2015 at Falls City. She was born August 22, 1915 northwest of Falls City to the late Claude and Rebecca (Strauss) Hunt.
On June 20, 1936 she married Rollie Cummings at Nebraska City, NE. He passed away November 27, 1988.
Ruth attended District 47 Maple Grove School and Falls City High School. The couple established their home 3 miles east of Verdon when married and later moved southeast of Falls City and later to the home north of Falls City in 1945 where they farmed over 60 years; she later moved to Jonesbrook Estates. She had been a night clerk at the Check Inn Motel in Falls City for 7 years and also a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church at Falls City.
Ruth is survived by her niece, Betty Lee Lundvall and her husband Gary of Cody, WY and a special friend, Vera Ploeger of Falls City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Arlow Hunt and a sister, Mildred Strough.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Reverend Fay Ann Blaylock officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.
Open viewing and visitation will begin on Saturday afternoon.
