Ted Phroper, 57, of Cortland, NE, passed away May 22, 2017 at his home. He was born May 1, 1960 at Falls City, NE to Mike and Doris (Mackey) Phroper.
Ted Served in the Nebraska National Guard Reserves, Company B, at Falls City from 1979 to 1988.
On April 3, 1978 he married Gail Smith at Hiawatha, KS.
Ted was raised at Falls City and graduated Falls City High School in 1978. Following graduation he became employed by Falls City Meat Company and when the couple moved to Lincoln he opened and operated Phroper’s Fish Market. He became employed by Lincoln Public Schools for four years before he started Kleen Building Service, a commercial cleaning service he operated until his retirement in 2013.
Ted is survived by his wife, Gail of Cortland, daughters, Mandy Mueller and her husband Ben of Cozad, NE, Brandy Keller and her husband Justin of Eustis, NE, Samantha Vernon and her husband Dustin of Lincoln, NE, son, D’Angelo Phroper of Cortland, father, Mike of Falls City, brothers, Michael Ray and his wife Mira, Cliff and his wife Julie of Falls City, Bob and his wife Sabrina of Branson, MO, Bill and his wife Chris of Falls City, sister, Julie Ann Willey and her husband Wes of Falls City, grandchildren, Hailey Phroper, Alyssa Vernon, Daxton Mueller and Beckett Keller, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Steele Cemetery.
