Virgil Jones

Virgil Jones, 89, of Falls City, NE, passed away November 18, 2017 at Falls City. He was born October 15, 1928 north of Rulo, NE to Eston and Ida (Zimmerman) Jones.

He married Joann Anno on November 27, 1948 at St. Joseph, MO. She passed away September 16, 2015.

Virgil was raised at Preston, NE and moved to Forest City, MO where he graduated Forest City High School in 1946. When married the couple established their home north of Falls City, moving to Rulo in 1953 and to Falls City in 1963. He was a farmer his entire life. He retired from full time farming in 1992. He enjoyed golfing, family and hosting get-togethers. He was a member of Falls City Elks Lodge #963.

Virgil is survived by his sons, Gary Jones and his wife Linda of Falls City, Rick Jones and Julie of Rulo, granddaughters, Tracy Williams and her husband Brett of Laramie, WY, Kara Willison and her husband Jeremy of Lincoln, NE, great-grandchildren, Brayden, Mikayla, Connor and Cooper. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Ernest, Everett and Bill Jones and a granddaughter, Jennifer in infancy.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Reverend Andrew Chavanak officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.

Open viewing will begin Wednesday afternoon until 5pm. Closed Thanksgiving day and resume Friday at 9:00 AM.
