George W. Bauer, 88, of Falls City, NE (formerly of Verdon, NE) died April 2, 2006 at FallsCity. He was born November 5, 1917 at Verdon to the late Henry and Annette Louise (Fehr) Bauer.
On November 9, 1935 he married Ruth H. Herbster at Sidney, IA. She passed away August 11, 1986.
George was raised four and half miles northeast of Verdon. When the couple married they established their home in the same place when married. He later moved to FallsCity. He was a member of St. Paul’s EvangelicalLutheranChurch north of FallsCity.
George is survived by his daughters, Georgia Adams and husband Bert of Ocala, FL, Beverly Bernhardt of Falls City, Marjorie Burt of Des Moines, IA, sisters, Ethel M. Krueger of Falls City, Edith Schmidt of Bellevue, WA, ten grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother, Ralph.
Funeral services will be held on April 7, 2006 10:30 AM at St. Paul’s EvangelicalLutheranChurch (6 miles north of FallsCity) with Pastor Merelyn Snider officiating. Interment will be in the church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
