John G. Honea, 68, of Topeka, KS (formerly of FallsCity), passed away February 10, 2010 at Topeka. He was born May 20, 1041 at FallsCity to Leila (Larkins) Honea Peden and the late John H. Honea.
John served in the U. S. Navy.
On July 6, 1974 he married Claudia Stephenson.
John raised in FallsCity and graduated from FallsCityHigh School in 1960. He worked for Goodyear Tire Co. in Topeka, KS for 28 years and retired due to his health. He was a member of the CovenantBaptistChurch in Topeka and had served as a Deacon and had gone on several mission trips.
John is survived by his wife, Claudia of Topeka, sons, Shawn and his wife Lynette of Emporia, KS, Aaron of Topeka, Stephen of Topeka, daughter, Nadena Honea of Carbondale, KS, mother, Leila Peden of Falls City, brother, Walter “Bud” and his wife Jenny of Falls City, step-brother, Kip Peden of Omaha, NE, sister, Sharon Horn and her husband Norman of Kingman, AZ, step-sister, Jan Pape and her husband John of Fairview, KS and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, sister, Myrna Grace Parrish and step-father, Stanley Peden.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Casey Ingold officiating.
