Robert E. Bruhn, 82, of Falls City, NE, passed away February 17, 2010 at FallsCity. He was born December 30, 1927 at Verdon, NE to the late Walter and Pauline (Zentner) Bruhn.
He married Elaine Fisher on May 11, 1952 and they were later divorced. In August of 1981 he married Fern (Shafer) Stripe at St. Paul’s EvangelicalLutheranChurch, north of FallsCity.
Robert was raised on a farm north of Verdon and graduated from VerdonHigh school in 1947. He then worked with his father farming and worked at the Verdon Coop. He retired from Verdon Coop as General Manager with over 50 years of employment. He was a member of St. Paul’s EvangelicalLutheranChurch, north of FallsCity.
Robert is survived by his wife, Fern of Minot, ND, daughter, Cathy Sells and her husband Don of Rulo, NE, sons, Bob and his wife Joni, Bill and his wife Joan both of Beatrice, step-son, Steve Stripe and his wife Stephanie of Minot, ND, sister, Norma Werner and her husband Edwin of Salem, NE, seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother in infancy and sisters, Irene Johnson and Margaret Rhoden.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul’s EvangelicalLutheranChurch, six miles north of FallsCity, with Pastor Jonathan Rathjen officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-5:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
