William  "Bill" O.  DeWald

William “Bill” O. DeWald, 67, of Falls City, NE, passed away March 9, 2010 at Falls City. He was born July 22, 1942 at Falls City to the late Leland and Emma (Hahn) DeWald.

On July 25, 1992 he married Lyn Colanggo in the Philippines.

Bill served in the Nebraska National Guard.

Bill was raised in Falls City and graduated from Falls City High School in 1960. Following graduation he worked construction with his uncle in western Nebraska and Nevada. In Falls City he worked for the trailer factory, Falls City Creamery, Nebraska Beef and managed the Stephenson Motel for twenty years. In 1985 he started Bill’s Pawn Shop which then became Bill’s Used Furniture. He also owned several investment properties in Falls City. He was a member of  First United Methodist Church and American Legion Post #102 both in Falls City.

Bill is survived by his wife, Lyn of Falls City, daughter, Brittney DeWald of Falls City, sister, Sharon Hatmaker and her husband Gary of Morton, IL, a niece and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Reverend William G. Shipman officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
