Judith Bassett, 71, of Falls City, NE, passed away April 12, 2010 at Omaha, NE. She was born June 10, 1938 at Seattle, WA to the late Clyde and Doris (Nelsen) Phifer.
She married Layton Bassett in 1951 and they were later divorced.
Judith was raised at Seattle and following their marriage they traveled extensively due to her husband’s military service.She moved to FallsCity in 2005 and has lived here since.
Judith is survived by her sons, Jim and his wife Debbie of Falls City, John of Panama City, FL, daughters, Kimberly Warner of Middleburg, FL, Beverly Bentley and her husband Michael of Collins, MS, brothers, James Phifer of Everett, WA, Claude Phifer of Seattle, WA, half-brother, David Hoffard of Lake Stevens, WA, sister, Patricia Witess of Edmunds, WA, life partner, Raimon P. Bernard of Falls City, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, half-brother, John Hoffard, son, Layton Bassett, Jr.
Graveside services will be held next Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 2:00 PM at SteeleCemetery with Pastor Linda Daniels-Block officiating.
Open visitation will begin Monday at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
