Freddie L. Groves, 76, of Rulo, NE, passed away July 1, 2010 at FallsCity. He was born July 8, 1933 at Bolckow, MO to the late Leland and Geneva (Wilson) Groves.
On November 17, 1951 he married Delores Miller at NebraskaCity, NE. She passed away February 17, 1993.
Mr. Groves was raised at Bigelow, MO. When the couple were married they established their home in Mound City, MO and then moved to Elmwood, NE in 1958. He owned and operated a soil conservation earth moving equipment business. They moved to Rulo, NE in 1988 when he retired.
Fred loved to work in his shop and spent many hours welding and inventing.His hobby was restoring old tractors.His pride was his grandson Craig, who spent many summers with his Grandpa learning and working at his house on the river.He will be greatly missed not only for his kindness to others but for all he has taught all of us who were lucky enough to have known him.
He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Morgensen and her husband Stanley of Weeping Water, NE, Peg Jensen of Elmwood, NE, Terri Bauers and her husband Robert of Weeping Water and a grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother.
The body of Mr. Groves has been cremated and services will be held at a later date.
