Ralph  "Jerry"  Severin
d. 7/22/2010

Ralph J. “Jerry” Severin, 77, of Falls City, NE, passed away July 22, 2010 at Falls City. He was born May 4, 1933 at Troy, KS to the late William and Mabel (Bahr) Severin.

 

On October 19, 1957 he married Loretta Miller at Leavenworth, KS.

 

Jerry enlisted in the National Guard on June 26, 1950 and then enlisted in the U. S. Air Force on June 26, 1951. He served as a medical tech, dental tech and a dental hygienist. He served tours of duty in Korea and Viet Nam. He retired and was honorably discharged from active duty on September 30, 1972 at Malmstrom AFB at Great Falls, MT.

 

Mr. Severin was raised in Doniphan County, KS and graduated from the Denton, KS High School in 1951. Following graduation he enlisted in the U. S. Air Force, retiring after twenty years of service.  Following retirement he attended the Atchison Technical School in Atchison, KS and received a degree in carpentry. After receiving his degree they moved to Challis, ID where he worked on a ranch, then moved to Lolo, MT. He retired in 1975 and moved to Falls City in 1999 and has lived here since. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Falls City; life membership in Disabled American Veterans and member of Knights of Columbus.

 

Jerry is survived by his wife, Loretta of Falls City, son, Stephen and his wife Ann of Falls City, brothers, James of Cocoa, FL, John and his wife Karen of Robinson, KS, Marcus and his wife Kelly of Wathena, KS, sisters, Barbara Abbas of Raymore, MO, Dixie Peters and her husband Frank of Hiawatha, KS and a granddaughter, Kayla. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Ronald and Michael and a brother, William.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 2, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Monsignor Robert A. Roh as the presiding priest. Interment will be in St. Benedict’s Cemetery at Bendena, KS.

 

A Parish Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 7:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with the family receiving friends afterwards.
