Betty L. Bird

Betty L. Bird, 87, of Falls City, NE, passed away September 14, 2017 at Falls City. She was born January 24, 1930 at Falls City to Harold and Lily (Simpson) Bolejack.

She married Kenneth Bird on February 6, 1951 at Falls City and they were later divorced.

Betty was raised in Falls City and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1947. When married the couple established their home down south due to Kenneth’s Air Force Service. They later moved to Plattsmouth, NE and back to Falls City in 1961. She worked at the Falls City Bakery, Pamida and in the laundry at Falls City Care Center. Betty retired in 1990. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Betty is survived by her son, Stephen of Falls City, Daniel and his wife Kathie of Omaha, daughter, Susan Carpenter and her husband Bob of Falls City, sister, Joan Martin of Oxnard, CA, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents,brothers Jean Bolejack of Whitsett, North Carolina, and Duane Bolejack of Falls City, NE., sister Elaine Miller of Vancouver, Washington, and son David Michael Bird of Falls City, NE.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Thomas Dunavan as the presiding priest. Interment will be in Falls City Catholic Cemetery.

A Parish Rosary will be recited on Monday at 7:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral with the family receiving friends afterwards.
