Billy Ankrom Obituary

Billy D. Ankrom, 91, of Falls City, NE (formerly of Shubert, NE), passed away August 21, 2018 at Falls City. He was born September 3, 1926 at Barada, NE to William R. and Ethel (Donaldson) Ankrom.

He married Aline Coleman on November 17, 1962 at St. Joseph, MO. She passed away February 15, 2001.

Billy was raised in the Barada area and attended St. Droin School, Ankrom School and Barada School before graduation from Shubert High School in 1942. Following graduation he worked striping highways for the Nebraska Department of Roads and also was a lineman for Great Lakes Pipeline. When married the couple established their home in the Shubert area on his grandparent’s farm. He started farming with his father and farmed and raised livestock until his retirement in the late 1990’s. He attended the Barada United Methodist Church.

Billy is survived by his sons, David of Falls City and Ed of Beatrice, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters, Etta Mae Ankrom and June in infancy.

His funeral will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Yount officiating. Interment will be in Harris Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
