Denise Metzner

Denise Metzner, 64, of Falls City, NE, passed away April 23, 2019 at Lincoln, NE. She was born March 14, 1955 at Lincoln, NE to Wendall and Lois (Ziemann) Wissel. 

She married Vince Metzner on November 16, 1985 at Falls City.

Denise was raised at Hickman, NE and graduated Norris High School in 1973. She earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and then graduated University of Nebraska Medical Center as a Medical Technologist. She moved to Falls City in 1977 and became employed by Community Medical Center in the hospital lab. She was promoted to supervisor in 1987 and worked there until her death.

She enjoyed coaching junior high volleyball at Sacred Heart School, team roping mom and watching kids at roping events. She loved to garden and make Christmas candy. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Denise is survived by her husband, Vince of Falls City, daughter, Cassie Metzner of Lincoln, son, Dusty and his wife Andrea of Rulo, parents, Wendall and Lois Wissell of Hickman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Cole Kennett as the presiding priest. Interment will be in Falls City Catholic Cemetery.

A Parish Rosary will be recited on Thursday at 7:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the rosary.
