Janis Larkin

Janis Larkin, 82, of Falls City, NE, passed away September 1, 2019 at Falls City. She was born April 13, 1937 at Tecumseh, NE to Eldon and Doris (Fisher) Holmes. 

She married Don Larkin on June 7, 1956 at Falls City. He passed away September 4, 2009.

Janis was raised at Tecumseh. When married the couple established their home in Falls City. She was a waitress and also a foreman at Flairfold at Hiawatha, KS. The couple operated the Wright Place restaurant from 1990 until she retired in 2005. She then became a caretaker for her granddaughter.

Janis is survived by her daughters, Donna Gildersleeve and her husband Joe of Falls City, Debi Johansen of Joplin, MO, brothers, Jerome Holmes and his wife Sharon of Lincoln, NE, Lawrence Easter and his wife Chris of Wymore, NE, sisters, Eldonna Schwisow and her husband Roger of Lincoln, Charlet Easter-Nichols of Beatrice, NE, Suzanne Frazier and her husband Jerry of Lincoln, grandchildren, Ali Gildersleeve, Colton Gildersleeve and his wife Katie both of Falls City, Heather Mitchell of Joplin, MO, Gretchen Courtney and her husband Bobby of Coral Springs, FL, great-grandchildren, Xavier and Baron Gildersleeve both of Falls City, Breylynn, Gyensynn and Iyralynn Courtney all of Coral Springs. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Jean Heckathorn.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Reverend Andrew Chavanak officiating. Cremation will follow and inurnment will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM at Steele Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
