Kenny Simpson Obituary

Kenny Simpson, 65, of Falls City, NE, passed away September 3, 2018 at Falls City. He was born November 8, 1952 at Falls City to Charles and Mary Lou (Coonce) Simpson. 

Kenny served in the U. S. Air Force enlisting May 29, 1971 and was honorably discharged on May 31, 1974.

He married Constance Huebner on June 11, 1972 at Falls City. They divorced in February of 1983. He married Tami Sisk on May 30, 1996 at Oregon, MO.

Kenny was raised at Falls City and graduated Falls City High School in 1971. He enlisted in the U. S. Air Force following graduation. Upon his discharge he moved to Columbus, NE where he worked at a grocery store with his uncle. He moved back to Falls City and purchased Shafer’s Market with his uncle, Bill Coonce. In 1979 he became a full time driver for the Falls City Fire Department. He also was the Falls City Building Inspector and was Fire Chief for the last 10 years, until suffering a stroke in 2017. He started the Fire Stompers program 30 years ago. He also worked at the recycling center and In-Home Health and helped with the remodel of Jonesbrook Estates. He was the owner of KT Fire Extinguishers and BKM Karaoke for 25 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and American Legion Post #102 both of Falls City.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Tami of Falls City, son, Ben and his wife Stephanie of Falls City, step-daughter, Nicole Mason and her boyfriend, Jerry Guess of Falls City, mother, Mary Lou Hill of Falls City, brothers, Mike and his wife Krista of Ashland, NE, David and his wife Kirsten of Humboldt, NE, sister, Mary Jo Liberty and her husband Sam of Falls City and two grandsons. He was preceded in death by his father.

His memorial service will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 10:30 AM at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Young Je Kim officiating. Inurnment will be in Rulo Cemetery. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
