Margaret Shafer Obituary

Margaret E. Shafer, 92, of Falls City, NE, passed away June 18, 2019 at Falls City. She was born November 13, 1926 at Falls City to William and Ann (McMahon) Murphy.

She married Donald F. Shafer on November 24, 1948 at Dawson, NE. He passed away February 9, 1969

Margaret was raised at Dawson and graduated from Dawson High School. When married the couple made their home at Stella, NE and then moved to the Dawson area and into Falls City in 1975. She was a homemaker her entire life and had worked for F. W. Woolworth and Gambles at Falls City, she then helped to care for her mother and after her death she helped her brother Gene farm. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Jane Ann Hall and her husband Richard of Salt Lake City, UT, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Nancy Shafer, brothers, Robert and Cecil Eugene Murphy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Lawrence Stoley as the presiding priest. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at Dawson.

A Parish Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 7:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the rosary.
