Mary Kathryn Kreifels

Mary Kathryn Kreifels, 85, of Falls City, NE, passed away April 3, 2018 at Falls City. She was born July 15, 1932 at Falls City to Elmer and Helen (Kelly) Finck.

She married Bernard Kreifels on September 27, 1952 at Falls City. He passed away August 27, 1989.

Mary Kathryn was raised at Falls City and graduated Falls City Sacred Heart in 1949. She attended Creighton University and graduated St. Catherine’s School of Nursing in 1952 as a Registered Nurse. When married the couple established their home in Lincoln where she worked as  an R.N. at a Lincoln hospital. In 1955 they moved to Falls City where she worked at the Falls City Hospital until 1960 then she worked with her husband at Kreifels Building Center. She then owned Fashion Fabrics and Yarn from 1970 until 1976. Then she helped her husband at Vault Company of Mid America until 1992 when she retired. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, Altar Society; she was also a respite care volunteer and past member of Falls City Volunteer Ambulance Squad.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Lou Morris of Sedalia, MO, Patty Ziesel and her husband Mike of St. Joseph, MO, son, Charles of Falls City, nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Raymond Finck and a son-in-law, Rick Morris.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Thomas Dunavan as the presiding priest. Interment will be in Falls City Catholic Cemetery.

A Catholic Daughters Rosary will be recited on Friday at 4:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.

A Parish Rosary will be recited on Friday at 6:30 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. With family receiving friends afterwards.

Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart School.
