Mary Ann Jones

Mary Ann Jones, 80, of Falls City, NE, passed away September 26, 2018 at St. Joseph, MO. She was born February 3, 1938 at Falls City to John and George Anna (Brenner) Bacakos.

She married William Jones on May 26, 1956 at Falls City. He passed away December 1, 2017.

Mary Ann was raised at Falls City and graduated Falls City High School in 1956. When married the couple established their home in Falls City. She worked at J. C. Penny’s at Falls City and then in St. Joseph. She retired after 35 years of employment. She moved to St. Joseph in 2016 to be cared for by her daughter.

Mary Ann is survived by daughters, Judy Gerdes and her husband Marvin of St. Joseph, grandchildren, Dakota and Montana Jones, Matthew Gerdes and Emily Dornhoffer and her husband, Ryan, great-grandchildren, Levi and Zane Gerdes, Kason and Aidan Ferguson and a sister, Debbie Hoffmann and her husband John of South Bend, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son, David.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 2-4:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Steele Cemetery at a later date.
