Thomas Matter

Born on June 1, 1938 in Aurora, IL, Thomas C. Matter died at home at Salem, NE on December 31, 2016.

The son of Myron and Evelyn Matter, Tom was a man of few words but many loves.  When other high school teens were enjoying after school sports and activities, Tom spent his time as a farm hand with the goal of having his own farm. He left Naperville, Illinois for Nebraska to fulfill his dream.  Tom loved his land and the hard work that went along with it.  He especially loved his coonhounds and draft horses. Working along side his team of Percherons, they prepared fields, planted, cultivated and harvested crops.

Tom loved wildlife and conservation and lived surrounded by animals and nature. Well read, Tom loved hunting with friends and good conversation. Tom loved his family and friends and he will be missed.  NRA Member, Wisconsin Bear Hunters Member, Michigan Bear Hunters Association, Black & Tan Coon Hunters Member. 

Tom is survived by his brother Gerald S. Matter, his nephew Troy M. Matter and his nieces Julie A Matter Mutuc and Nancy E. Matter Holder. Sincere thank you to Neal Parsons and Shawn Kaster for your help and friendship to Tom and his family.  A family farewell will be scheduled to celebrate Tom’s life.
