William "Bill" Jones

William “Bill” Jones, 83, of Falls City, NE, passed away December 1, 2017 at St. Joseph, MO. He was born January 20, 1934 at Falls City to Moss and Maude (Odom) Jones. 

Bill was called for active duty in U. S. Army on August 1, 1956 from the National Guard. He was honorably discharged from active duty on May 30, 1958 and returned to serve in the National Guard.

He married Mary Ann Bacakos on May 26, 1956 at Falls City.

Bill was raised at Falls City and graduated Falls City High School 1953. Following graduation he worked for his father in construction. He then became employed by Bohrer Brothers Construction and in 1981 he worked construction on his own for several years until he retired.

Bill is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of St. Joseph, daughters, Judy Gerdes and her husband Marvin of St. Joseph, grandchildren, Dakota and Montana Jones, Matthew Gerdes and Emily Hendricks, great-grandchildren, Levi and Zane Gerdes, Kason and Aidan Ferguson. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, David, a sister and seven brothers.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 2-4:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Steele Cemetery.

The family prefers memorials be made to Alzheimer's Association.
