Calvin "Pat" Puckett, Jr.

Calvin Gene "Pat" Puckett Jr, 73, of Humboldt NE, passed away June 7th, 2022 in Falls City. He was born on March 17th, 1949 in Iola, KS to Calvin Gene and Grace (VanNice) Puckett Sr. He was raised in Humboldt, KS before moving to Lawrence, KS where he graduated from Lawrence High School in 1967.

In 1968, he married Sherry Johnston and they had three children: Amanda, Christina and Matthew.

Pat worked at various jobs in Lawrence including Stokely Van Camp, E & E Specialties and a lumberyard before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force on March 11th, 1971 in Kansas City, MO. He served as an air traffic control radar repairman.  He was honorably discharged on June 10th, 1974 at Dobbins AFB, GA.

After leaving the Air Force and divorcing his first wife, Pat met and married Trudi Simmons in Enid, OK in1981. Pat and Trudi had two more children: Eric and Melissa. He moved from Enid to Hiawatha, KS in 1993. He continued driving a truck until 2009 when he moved to Falls City, NE, after his wife Trudi passed away in August of 2008.  He then worked as an appliance deliveryman for Mary's Appliance.

Pat gained his current life partner on November 2nd, 2019 when he married Shirley Bivans and moved to Humboldt, NE.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Hiawatha, KS and the VFW.

He loved singing at church, woodworking, watching westerns and making people laugh. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. More than anything, he loved his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ and was extremely grateful for his salvation.

Pat is survived by his spouse, Shirley Bivans of Humboldt, NE, his children Amanda (David) Zell, Christina Rogers, Matthew Puckett, all of Lawrence, KS, Eric Puckett, and Melissa Puckett of Falls City, NE, brother Tom (Angela) Puckett of Lawrence, KS, sister Diana (Puckett) Lawrence of Westport, NY, grandsons Jason Zell, and Christian Zell of Lawrence, KS, grandson Patrick Souter of Topeka, KS, granddaughter Willow Jade Puckett of Sabetha, KS, step children Wendy (Eric) Reuter of Shubert, NE, Monty (Kala) Foster of Falls City, NE, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Calvin Gene and Grace (VanNice) Puckett, first wife Sherry (Johnston) Puckett, second wife Trudi (Simmons) Puckett, an infant daughter Mary Grace Puckett, infant brother Jimmy Linn Puckett, and infant sisters Mary Ann Puckett, and Francis Lavinia Puckett.

He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.

Mr. Puckett has been cremated and services will be held at a later date.
