Cathy Liberty

Cathy Liberty, 61, of Falls City, NE, passed away July 10, 2019 at Falls City. She was born January 28, 1958 at Lincoln, NE to Jerome and Mary (Sorensen) Petsche.

She married Gary Liberty on December 29, 1984 at Falls City.

Cathy was raised in Lincoln and Omaha and graduated Omaha Northwest High School in 1976 and then attended University of Nebraska at Lincoln and earned a degree in social work. She began her career working in the social services department at Richardson County Court House in 1984 and retired on April 17, 2017 due to her health. She was a member of First United Methodist Church at Falls City.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Gary of Falls City, sons, Brandon and his wife Brianna of Smithville, MO, Mitch and his wife Janae of Trenton, MO, step-children, Todd Liberty and his wife Cady of Papillion, NE, Jamie Vonderschmidt and her husband Chance of Rulo, brothers, Paul Petsche and his wife Kim of San Francisco, CA, Mark Petsche of Nashua, NH, Clay Petsche and his wife Elaine of Corvallis, OR, grandchildren, Erison, Ellery and Elin Vonderschmidt, Presley and Creighton Liberty, Berkley and Baylor Liberty and Lana Liberty. She was preceded in death by her, father, mother, step-mother, Sue Petsche and a grandson, Easton Vonderschmidt.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, July 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church with Reverend Young Je Kim officiating. Cremation will follow.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-5:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to family choice for later designation.
