Charlie Marteny Obituary

Charles “Charlie” Marteny, 80 of Falls City, NE, passed away October 16, 2021 at Falls City. He was born July 16, 1941 at Falls City to Odin and Ruth (Robinson) Marteny.

He married Peggy Fisher and they were later divorced, the then married Doris Stalder on August 21, 1971 and they were divorced in 2006.

Charlie was raised at Falls City and graduated Falls City High School in 1959. He then enlisted in the U. S. Army on January 30, 1964 at Omaha, NE. He served as a military policeman and was honorably discharged on January 26, 1966 at Ft. Hamilton, NY. When discharged he came back to Falls City and took employment with James Oil Company for many years and then became Sexton at Steele Cemetery, retiring in 2003. He was a member of First Brethren Church.

He is survived by his step-daughters, Barb Mauslein and her husband Biff and Christy Sankey and her husband Matt, brother, Byron and his wife Janice of Custer, SD, step-grandsons, Jacob and Dane Mauslein, nieces and nephews, particularly Julie Shafer and Mike Marteny of Falls City. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Lee, Albert, Gerald, Roger and John, sisters, Peggy Munoz and Gladys Schulenberg.

Charlie has been cremated and a graveside service at Steele Cemetery will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Cheryl Mishler officiating. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.

No viewing or visitation. Friends may sign the guest book at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home during regular business hours.
