Delila Vice

Delila “Dee” Marie Vice, 92, passed away at Yankee Hill Village in Lincoln, Ne, on January 17, 2023. She was born on June 6, 1930 on the family farm near Falls City to Edward Julius and Anna Marie (Strauss) Krause.

She married Edward Leroy Vice on October 30, 1954 at Falls City. He passed away April 27, 2005.

Dee attended country school and graduated from Falls City High School in 1947. She completed TWA flight attendant school and later completed courses at Lincoln School of Cosmetology. After marriage, they moved to Kansas City, MO, where she worked for Hallmark Corporation. Upon returning to Falls City, she worked as a beautician with Florence Herling in a shop located in Shestak Drug Store. She eventually bought the business and continued in a shop in Ken’s Pharmacy until the mid-nineties. She retired to the farm with her husband, Ed, to garden, travel and enjoy her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 20th & Towle Street.

Dee is survived by her daughters Beth Andrew and her husband Mark, Nancy Vice and her husband Bill Jahn, both of Lincoln, grandchildren, Ian (Kristen) Vice, Darin & Carin Andrew, step-grandchildren, Nick (Michelle) Andrew, Jordan (Alicia) Andrew, Tiffany (Joe) Brown, Rachel (Tony) Johnson, great-granddaughter, Emery Vice, step-great-grandchildren, Cambree, Wade, Weston & Colsen Andrew, Reese & Winnie Andrew, Maya, Alayna & Kasen Brown, Kennedy, Landon & Xander Johnson, nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by, her parents, husband, Ed, brothers Kenneth, John & Dale, sisters-in-law, Alyce Krause & Zona Krause

Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends on Friday from 7:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Dorr & Clark Funeral Home.

Family prefers memorials to St. Mark’s Cemetery or St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on 20th & Towle St.
