Dennis Frederick Obituary

Senior Chief Dennis W. Frederick, Retired, age 68 of Falls City, Nebraska passed away in Tucson, Arizona on Friday, April 16, 2021. 

Dennis was born December 2, 1952 to Edward and Shirley (Barber) Frederick in Falls City. He was raised in Falls City, graduated from High School and worked for Wilde Tool for 2 years. In October of 1971 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. On May 1, 1976 he married Myrna Villanueva in the Philippines.  He served various places and retired as a Senior Chief on March 31, 1996 at NAS North Island, California.  He earned a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Good Conduct Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy Expeditionary Medal, Navy Achievement Medal and Battle “E”.

Following his discharge, the couple lived in San Diego until moving to Falls City in 1999.  He then attended Peru State College earning a Bachelor of Art and Science degree in History.  He was also a gardener selling his product at the area farmer’s market.  He enjoyed the outdoors, deep sea fishing and hunting.  He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Myrna, children Joshua (Wendy) Frederick of Buckeye, Arizona, Jennifer (Robert) Finkle of Tucson Arizona, and Sean (Marsha) Frederick of Falls City.  Mother, Shirley Frederick of Falls City, brothers, Jim (Marcia) Frederick and Kenny (Cindy) Frederick, sisters, Teresa (Kerry) Pfister all of Falls City, Mary Sue (John) Martin of Salem and Joyce (Larry) Curtis of Yuma Arizona and 9 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 26, 2021 at 10:30 AM, Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Parish Rosary will be recited on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at 6:00 PM, Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.

Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 1:00 PM, Omaha National Cemetery.  Military Graveside Honors by the United States Navy.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Wounded Warriors or Disabled American Veterans.
