Dennis Mellage, 77, of Falls City, NE, passed away July 12, 2022 at Sabetha, KS. He was born July 5, 1945 at Falls City to Wilbur and Maxine (Chesnut) Mellage.
He married Judy West on November 17, 1962 at Reserve, KS. She passed away November 24, 2018.
Dennis attended Reserve High School and following his schooling he worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad until 1976 when he then started farming the family farm. He farmed until 1982 when he began working for Falls City Fertilizer, then drove for Crouse Trucking. His final place of employment was working for Bear Scholl, retiring in 2018. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church (20th and Towle St.)
Dennis survived by his children, Brenda Fisher and her husband Wendell of Kansas City, MO, Chris and his wife Barb of Falls City, Cherie Derr and her husband Curtis of Lincolnton, NC, brother, Marvin and his wife Linda of Broken Arrow, OK, sisters, Jane Thomas and Judy Crouse and her significant other, Clyde Schroeder both of Nebraska City, NE, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 4 brothers-in-law, sister-in-law and two nephews.
His memorial service will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022 at 2:00 PM at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Roger Lampe officiating. Inurnment will be in Steele Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
