Edward "Ed" Eaton

Edward “Ed” Eaton, 73, of Verdon, NE, passed away August 8, 2023 at Humboldt, NE. He was born September 23, 1949 at Falls City, NE to Roy and Bonnie (Ramer) Eaton.

He married Julia Cummings on March 9, 1973 at Hiawatha, KS

Ed was raised in Verdon and attended Dawson-Verdon High School. Following his schooling he began working as a mechanic. He worked for Coulter Kawasaki in Auburn, NE, the Burlington Northern Railroad and Eddie Motors. He started Eaton’s Repair in 1988 in Verdon, he retired in 2003 due to his health but continued to tinker around in the shop. He was an avid pitch player, motorcycle hill climber and enjoyed tractor pulls, demo derbies and mud runs. He attended the Verdon Christian Church.

Ed is survived by his wife, Julia of Verdon, children, Angela Rash and her husband Richard of Havensville, KS, Robin Zimmeran and her husband Kevin of Falls City, Gloria Pape of Plattsmouth, NE, Joseph and his wife Tiffany of Verdon, sister, Linda Furrow of Falls City, eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ed’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Dr. William Simpson officiating. Interment will be in Verdon Cemetery.

Open visitation and viewing will begin Monday afternoon at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
