Eleanore Mayne Obituary

Eleanore Catherine Mayne, 89, of Verdon, NE, passed away October 30, 2019 at Verdon. She was born October 15, 1930 at Mink Creek, ID to Josiah and Katherine (Tarbet) Libby.

She married David R. Mayne on April 30, 1948 at Salt Lake City, UT. He passed away February 12, 2004.

Eleanore was raised in various places due to her father’s work. She graduated South High School at Salt Lake City in 1948. When married the couple established their home in Logan, UT and later moved to Salt Lake City. She worked briefly in a dry cleaner and a bank, but was mostly a homemaker. They lived in various places throughout the United States and also in Egypt and Venezuela. In 1997 they moved to Verdon following Mr. Mayne’s retirement. She was well known for her peanut brittle and Fudge. She was also an avid gardener and crafter.

She is survived by her children, Linda Watson and her husband Mark of Salt Lake City, Joanne Bronson and her husband Bill of South Bend, NE, Denise Koso and her husband Neal of Verdon, Jerilyn Knoll and her husband Don of Yakima, WA, daughter-in-law, Judie Mayne of Boise, ID, sister, Joanne Goddard and her husband Gerald of Milwaukee, OR, fifteen grandchildren and thirty-four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Richard and a granddaughter in infancy, Sara Koso.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 1:30 PM at Verdon Cemetery.
