Elwood Steinke

Elwood Steinke, 81, of Falls City, NE, passed away May 28, 2023 at Falls City. He was born December 5, 1941 at Hugo, CO to Herbert and Lydia (Wagner) Steinke.

Elwood moved to Falls City from California in 1954 and he graduated Dawson-Verdon High School in 1959. He served in the Nebraska National Guard, Company B at Falls City. He farmed with his father his entire life and raised livestock. He retired from farming in 2018 due to his health. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church (6 miles north).

Elwood is survived by his sister, Carol Meyer of North Ridge, CA, nephew, Daniel Meyer of North Ridge, special friends, Bill and Amy Nussbaum of Falls City. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Robert Meyer and a nephew, Steven Meyer.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery (6 miles north).

No viewing or visitation. Friends may sign the guest book during regular business hours at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to Family Choice for later designation.
