Eugenio "Eugene" Marquez

Eugenio Pena Marquez, 91, passed away July 17, 2023 at his home in Shubert. He was born January 5, 1932, in San Matteo, New Mexico, to Desiderio and Eufemia (Peña) Marquez.

He married Reva Shafer on June 10, 1970 in Falls City. He worked at beef plants in Missouri and Kansas for 30 years. After retirement, he worked at Johnson motors in Auburn and was the broom maker at Indian cave state park for several years.

Eugenio is survived by his wife, Reva of Shubert, children, Randy Marquez, Shubert; Traci Marquez, Humboldt; Teresa (Bill) Schnippert, Port Charlette FL; Kristen Prince, Asheville, NC; Danielle (Doug) Roach, Wilmington, NC; Martine Marquez, Jacksonville, NC; sister-in-law, Connie Shafer, Auburn; eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, nephew, and Great grandson.  

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 24, 2023 from 6-7:00 pm at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.  

Mr. Marquez has been cremated and a graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Prairie Union Cemetery, Shubert at 1:00 pm with Jackie Gfeller officiating.
