Faye Richards

Faye Richards, 99, of Auburn, NE, passed away May 30, 2020 at Auburn, NE. She was born January 1, 1921 at Shubert, NE to John Henry and Alta (Orr) Shafer.

She married Marvin Hendricks in 1939 at Hiawatha, KS, they were later divorced. She then married Charles Richards in July of 1973 at Rapid City, SD, he passed away in 1981.

Faye was raised in the Shubert and Barada, NE areas. When married the couple established their home in Verdon, NE and moved to Lincoln, NE in 1945 and to Auburn in 2017. She worked for Russell Stover Candy Company in Lincoln for 13 ½ years and later had a daycare in her own home, retiring in 1973. She was a member of Church of Christ at Falls City.

Faye is survived by her daughters, Leona Thompson and her husband Gene of Rapid City, SD, Linda Schaab and her husband Jim of Florida, twelve grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Elsie Alexander, Velma Gordon, Luella Jones, Alma Handley and 1 in infancy, brothers, Charles, Edward, Frank, Alfred, Henry, Ralph, Elmer and Alvin Shafer and a daughter, Deanna Tidwell.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. Interment will be in Barada Cemetery.

Viewing and open visitation will begin late Monday afternoon.
