Gary Lee Volz

Gary Lee Volz, 85, of Shubert, NE, passed away September 28, 2022 at Falls City, NE. He was born October 21, 1935 at Falls City to Joseph and Mary (Schultz) Volz.

He married Eleanor Warner in 1961 and they were later divorced. He then married Doris Adams in 1972 at Miami, OK.

Gary enlisted in the U. S. Army on December 5, 1956 at Omaha, NE. He was honorable discharged on November 29, 1957 at Camp Leroy Johnson, LA.

Gary was raised in Falls City, Wichita, KS and Littleton, CO. He worked for Missouri Beef Packers and also packing plants in Texas. He was a welder in various places, but locally worked for Circle Steel and WASP. He retired in 1998. Following retirement he enjoyed gardening, yard work and anything kept him busy, especially making smoked sausage and BBQ.

Gary is survived by his wife, Doris of Shubert, sons, Gary Joe Volz, Jr. of Salem, NE, Orville Dean Volz and his wife Rachel of Tucson, AZ, sister, Marie Watterson of Newton, KS, two step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Dale and Junior, sisters, Katheryn Shafer, Delphine Brooks and Lucille Hunker.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 3, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Fricke Cemetery with Pastor Mike Hader officiating. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-4:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
