Gerald "Dean" Folsom Obituary

Gerald “Dean” Folsom, Jr passed away on March 29, 2024, at his home in Falls City NE at the age of 53.

Dean was born on June 29, 1970, in Kansas City, KS to Gerald and Jane Folsom. He attended school in Hiawatha, KS. He married Paula Neis in 1988.

Throughout their marriage, the couple welcomed their four children into their home. His kids and grandkids, Gerald and Grady (Folsom), Ashtyn and Silas (Scarlata), and Alexis, Teddy, Noah, and Jayden (Romero) were his pride and joy.

His children remember him for his love of hunting, collecting coins, his music playlist, and his uncanny knowledge of movie trivia.

After holding various jobs Dean became an electrician, starting as an apprentice with Schultz Electric and Faith Technologies in Kansas City. Later in his career, he became an electrical superintendent with Bechtel, allowing him to travel and showcase his incredible talent.

Dean is survived by his wife, Paula (Neis); children, Gerald Folsom III, Kansas City, MO, Amber (Jason) Romero, Pueblo West, CO, Kaitlyn (Mark) Scarlata, Rochester, NY, and Rebekah Folsom, Kansas City, MO. He is also survived by his sister Anna (Rick) Wisdom of Robinson, KS, brothers Greg (Angie) Folsom, of Falls City, NE, and Gary (Della) Folsom of Robinson, KS, and his stepmother Brenda Smith of Hiawatha KS

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald D Folsom, Sr and Jane (Weibling) Folsom, stepfather Harry Smith, grandparents Calvin and Charlotte Weibling, and Isom and Viola Folsom and his nephew, Andy Dalberg.

Funeral arrangements will be held Saturday the 6th at 2 pm at the United Church of Christ in Fairview.
