Helen Taft

Helen C. Taft, 93, of Falls City, NE, passed away March 16, 2023 at Omaha, NE. She was born July 16, 1929 at Falls City to John and Emma (Niedfeldt) Knobbe.

She married Cleo Taft on September 27, 1952 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church at Shubert, NE. He passed away April 13, 2007

Helen was raised in rural Richardson County and graduated Falls City Sacred Heart in 1945. Following graduation she worked various jobs but is most known for working at First Federal Lincoln in Falls City. She retired in 1999 and then worked part-time for Dorr and Clark Funeral Home and also did elderly care. She enjoyed gardening and canning her produce. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Helen is survived by her sons, Ed and his wife Glenda, Bob and his wife Connie, Kevin and his wife Kay all of Falls City, Steve and his wife Lisa of Yutan, NE, daughters, Connie Vonderschmidt and her husband Kevin of Rulo, Mary Lyons and her husband Jim of Omaha, brother, John Knobbe and his wife Beverly of Barada, NE, Bill Knobbe and his wife Leona of Falls City, sister, Mary Austin of Enterprise, AL, eighteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Annie Niedfeldt, son, James and a great-grandson, Easton Vonderschmidt.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 10:30 A. M. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Jim Meysenburg officiating. Interment will be in Falls City Catholic Cemetery.

A Parish Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 5:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers or plants the family prefers memorials be made to Sacred Heart School or Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church
