Janice M. Carpenter, 94, of Falls City, NE, passed away September 9, 2021 at Falls City. She was born May 12, 1927 at Barada, NE to William John and Bertha (Kuker) Honea.
She married William S. Carpenter on September 13, 1945 at Hiawatha, KS. He passed away February 27, 2006.
Janice was raised in the Barada area and attended Barada School. Following her schooling she did domestic work and also worked at Brown’s Café. When married the couple established their home in Kansas City, later moving to Richardson County. She was a homemaker and farm wife and enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren’s events. She moved to town in 1978 and has lived here since. She attended First Christian Church
Janice is survived by her son, Marlin and his wife Kelly of Falls City, daughters, Marlene Honea of Carbondale, KS, Charlene Chellew and her husband Ron of Hiawatha, KS, seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Orville, Marvin, Owen and Howard Honea and a sister, Opal Duncan.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
