Joyce Wiltse

Linda Joyce Wiltse, 81, of Falls City, NE, passed away July 8, 2018 at Falls City. She was born June 18, 1937 at Salem, NE to Otis and Monta (Smith) Kelsay. 

She married Lawrence Wiltse on December 20, 1959 at Julian, NE. He passed away October 16, 1999.

Joyce was raised in the Honey Creek area and graduated Honey Creek High School in 1955. She then attended Peru State College and became endorsed to teach elementary education. When married the couple established their home northeast of Falls City and remained there her whole life. She taught at Williamsville, Barada, Fort Hazel and the Red Brick School House rural Schools for a total of seventeen years. She then became a nurse’s aide at Community Medical Center. She retired after 23 years in 1997 to care for her husband. She raised Schnauzers for 23 years. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Terry and his wife Jennifer, Kevin and his wife Mary both of Falls City, brother, Alan Kelsay and his wife Joanne of Omaha, sisters, Judy Weilage and her husband Ralph of Roca, NE, Carol Gurney of Kansas, Sharol Scholl and her husband Ray of Rapid City, SD, grandchildren, BreAnna Mackey of Kansas City, Drew and his fiancé Sarah Gyhra and Amie Wiltse of Falls City, great-grandchildren, Gabriela and Reyna. She was preceded in death her parents, husband, granddaughter, Kelly Diane Wiltse, daughter, Monta Mackey, brother, Olin Kelsay. 

Her memorial service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with Reverend Jerry Yount officiating. Inurnment will be in Williamsville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
