Mary Tackett

Mary Helen Tackett, 72, of Falls City, NE, passed away March 16, 2022 at Falls City. She was born November 9, 1949 at Falls City to Francis and Marjorie (Luebs) Egner.

On February 13, 1972 she was married to Richard Tackett at Falls City. He passed away July 29, 2012.

Mary was raised at Falls City and when married the couple made their home in Falls City. She and Richard owned and operated Tackett’s Café where she cooked for many years. When they closed, she took employment as a cook at the Senior Center. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren in retirement. She was always baking, cooking, sewing and making Christmas ornaments.

Mary is survived by her children, Sherry Irene Grame, Shirley Dupree and Michael Tackett and his wife Tara all of Falls City, brothers, David Egner of Council Bluffs, IA, Rick Egner and his wife Carrie of Lincoln, NE, eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Paul Egner and a sister, Linda Perdue.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 10:00 AM Stanton Lake. Inurnment will be in Rulo Cemetery.
