Miles Ruch

Miles Ruch, 90, of Dawson, NE, passed away July 16, 2023 at Falls City, NE. He was born March 27, 1933 at Barada, NE to Harry and Dolly (Bowers) Ruch.

He married Phyllis McIlvain April 1, 1949 at Falls City. They divorced in 1956. He then married Phyllis Fay Peterson in August of 1974 at Omaha, NE. She passed away December 15, 2005.

Miles was raised in the Barada area and attended Barada school, following his schooling he worked odds and ends jobs. He became employed at the Falls City Meat Company and later at the Mickelberry Meats running the smoke house for 33 years. He retired in 1996 and then worked part-time working for Golden Eagle Casino until he retired in 2018. He enjoyed raising hogs and cattle.

Miles is survived by his partner, Leslie Shank of Dawson, sons, Miles Allen Ruch, Sr. of Craig, MO, Michael Ruch of Dawson, daughter, Margo Michelle of Dawson, step-son, Chris Rader of Blue Rapids, KS, sister, Colleen Vice of Omaha, NE, half-sister, Shirley Cherry of Falls City, half-brother, James Berry of York, NE, six grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a half-brother, Dale Schultz.

Funeral service will be Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Miles Allen Ruch, Jr. officiating. Interment will be at Harris Cemetery.

Family will receive friends on Friday, 7:00-8:00 P.M. at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
