Lynn “Rocky” Shafer, 72, of Falls City, NE, passed away December 13, 2023 at Falls City. He was born October 20, 1951 at Falls City to Donald “Shorty” and Darlene (Norton) Shafer
He married Ann O’Grady on November 16, 1974 at Rulo, NE and they divorced in November of 2001.
Rocky served 6 years in the National Guard in Company B at Falls City, NE.
Rocky was raised in Falls City and graduated from Falls City High School in 1970. Following graduation, he farmed with his father and had Rocky’s Texaco, then worked with Dave Sailors doing construction. He also farmed with John O’Grady and was a self-employed painter. He enjoyed yard work, the outdoors, his grandchildren and his friends. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and former member of the American Legion and Elks Clubs at Falls City.
Rocky is survived by his children, Amber Lynn Uitts and her husband Tony of Falls City, Jake and his wife Alicia of Falls City, brother, Donnie of Falls City and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jonathan in infancy and a brother, Ray.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at 10:30 A.M. with Father Jim Meysenburg officiating. Inurnment will be in Steele Cemetery.
A Parish Rosary will be recited on Monday at 7:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home and the family will receive friends following the rosary.
