Roger West, Jr.

Roger West, Jr., 81, of Falls City, NE, passed away September 10, 2021 at Lincoln, NE. He was born November 23, 1939 at Cole Camp, MO to Roger & Maxine (Shumaker) West, Sr.

He married Joanne Bohlken at Hiawatha, KS and divorced in 1990. He then married Laritta Boatman on April 17, 1993 at Falls City.

Roger was raised and graduated from Falls City High School in 1957. He attended Midland College and then Peru State College. He started the Junior Midget Program in Falls City while still in college. He became employed by Missouri Pacific Railroad and worked for 42 years. He retired as a conductor in 2001 with the Union Pacific. He was a member of First Christian Church and was a church Elder and served in many capacities.

Roger is survived by his wife, Laritta West of Falls City, daughters, Debra West of Omaha, Michelle West and Pamela Farmer both of Lincoln, step-daughter, Glenda Harders and her husband Roger of Wahoo, NE, step-sons, Kent Buchholz and his wife Julie of Plattsmouth, NE, Jay Morehead and his wife Shari of Falls City, sister, Carol Frederick of Blair, NE, twelve grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Glenda Gibbs & Judy Mellage.

His funeral will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 10:30 A.M. at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Boatright officiating. Interment will be Steele Cemetery.
